LASH EXTENSION FAQs

What are eyelash extensions?

  • Eyelash extension is the technique in which lashes are attached to each of the clients’ individual natural lashes with lash adhesive to enhance the length, curl, and volume of natural lashes.

Why do I need to come back for refills?

  • The life cycle of a hair consists of three stages- anagen, catagen, and telogen. During the first and longest stage, called anagen, the hair actively grows. During the transitional and shortest stage, called catagen, the hair begins to destroy itself as it disconnects from the papilla. During the last stage, called telogen, the hair sheds and the follicle rests and prepares to start again. The complete cycle takes about 4-12 weeks.

What is the proper maintenance to maintain longest use of eyelash extension?

  • The most effective way to make your extensions last for a long period of time is to not use any makeup around the eye area and to use water or an oil free cleanser. After washing your face, make sure to blot and pat dry your lashes. Do not rub or scrub! If you choose to wear makeup and feel like you need a good cleanse there are several products to try out and figure out what works best for you. Micellar foaming cleanser and Beauty Garde Lash + Brow Shampoo are recommended.

How do I prep for my refill appointments?

  • Please have clean eyelashes before arriving to your appointment, so no time is wasted by having to cleanse your lashes.

How long will my initial appointment take? How long will touch up take?

  • A full set is blocked for a full two hours. 2 week refills are blocked from 45 minutes to 1 hour. 3 week refills are blocked from 1 hour to 1 hour and 15 minutes.

What are lash extension aftercare instructions?

  • Do not get lashes wet and avoid heat for the first 24 hours after a fill.

  • Avoid rubbing your eyes, picking or pulling your lash extensions.

  • All products used around the eye should be oil-free. Avoid oil-based products (pencil eyeliner, cream eye shadow, foundation, etc.) near the eyes.

  • Keep lashes away from high heat (flames, saunas, steam baths, ovens, etc.)

  • It is recommended to sleep on your back, to avoid sleeping directly on lashes.

  • Brush tips gently with a clean and dry mascara wand. It is OK to blow-dry your lashes on cool setting to help them maintain fluff.

  • PLEASE NEVER USE MASCARA! It is hard to remove, breaks down adhesive, and interferes with bonding of the next application.

  • Please arrive with CLEAN lashes to your appointments. Any eye/under eye makeup can interfere with proper bonding and may cause retention issues.

  • It is natural to shed 3-5 lashes daily per eye. Regular touch-up appointments every 2-3 weeks are recommended to maintain desired fullness. After 4 weeks, full set pricing will be required.

  • Certain seasons may cause allergies and/or an increase in shedding; these periods may require more frequent maintenance appointments.

Can I wear makeup with my lashes?

  • It is not recommended to use mascara or heavy eye makeup with extensions. If makeup is applied, use oil-free products and makeup remover only. Do not use an eyelash curler with extensions.

LIFT AND TINT FAQs

What is a lash lift and tint?

  • Lash lifting is a technique similar to a hair perm designed to give you more defined, longer-looking lashes. It gives you the same effect as an eyelash curler, except the results of a Lash Lift typically last 6-8 weeks. You may also add tinting to your lift to give your lashes a mascara-like darkness for 2-3 weeks. Tinting is best for lighter colored lashes but can also enhance darker lashes that have lighter tips. The procedure takes about 45-60 minutes.

How do I prepare for this service?

  • Please arrive to your appointment free of all eye makeup. If you wear contacts, please take them out before your lift to avoid any eye irritation.

Is the result of a lash lift and tint similar to that of eyelash extensions?

  • A lift and tint treatment enhances your natural lashes while extensions are adding additional lashes to add volume. So although the lashes might not be as full as extensions, a lift and tint is a low maintenance alternative.

What are the aftercare instructions and maintenance for a lift and tint?

  • Avoid using hot water to clean lashes (lukewarm to cool is preferred). Avoid usage of waterproof mascara.

Who may experience complications with a lift and tint treatment?

  • If you have recently had blepharoplasty or lasik surgery you must wait at least 6 months to a year before receiving this treatment. This treatment is not recommended for those who have chronic dry eye, conjunctivitis, damaged lashes, active eye infections, trichotillomania, or recent chemo treatments. Please always consult your physician before booking your appointment.

What are henna brows?

  • Henna brows are an all natural form of eyebrow tinting. The henna color dyes the eyebrow hairs while also staying on the surface of the skin for approximately 3-4 weeks. Henna is perfect for those who are on-the-go and want to wake up with flawless, low-maintenance brows.

FACIAL FAQs

I’ve never had a skincare service before. What should I expect?

  • On your first visit, you will fill out a consent form and your esthetician will conduct a brief consultation to determine which products and services best fit your skincare goals. During the service, remember to relax and always communicate your needs to your esthetician.

Will I break out after a skincare service?

  • You may experience a small break out 2-3 days after your treatment due to exfoliation techniques.

Do all facial treatments require aftercare?

  • Most skincare services may cause your skin to be slightly more sensitive. Moisturizer and sunscreen are always recommended following any treatment. If you are receiving a more in-depth service, your esthetician will discuss any aftercare requirements with you.

What should I expect after my chemical peel?

  • If you’re a first time chemical peel-er, your first experience will consist of a more basic peel. Over time and with consistent treatments, your esthetician will increase the level of intensity of the peel. After a chemical peel, you may experience sensitivity to hot temperatures and/or tingling of the skin.

Will I be able to purchase the products used in my service?

  • Products can be purchased for your daily regimen to maintain and maximize your results in between services.
